Grandma's Marathon Becomes Bronze Sponsor of Team USA Minnesota; Provides 10 Entries to Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon for Fundraiser
Minneapolis/St. Paul - March 15, 2017 - Grandma's Marathon, which will host its 41st annual weekend of running events in Duluth on June 15-17, has become a bronze sponsor of the Team USA Minnesota Distance Training Center. As part of the sponsorship, the Grandma's Marathon organization will also provide Team USA Minnesota with 10 entries to the sold-out Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon to use as a fundraiser.
Five Team USA Minnesota Runners to Compete at USATF 15k Championships in Jacksonville March 11; Jamie Cheever at St. Pat's Day 5k in Seattle March 12
Minneapolis/St. Paul - March 7, 2017 - Five Team USA Minnesota distance runners - Meghan Peyton, Jon Peterson, Rob Molke, Kevin Lewis and Ryan Rutherford - will be among the deep field of competitors at the USATF 15k Championships in Jacksonville on March 11. The championships will be run in conjunction with the 40th annual Gate River Run which will have some 20,000 participants.
Minneapolis/St. Paul - March 6, 2017 - Team USA Minnesota's Heather Kampf twice made the podium over the weekend at the USA Indoor Championships that were held at altitude in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was third in the women's one mile race on Saturday, March 4, and followed that up with a second place finish in the women's two mile on Sunday, March 5.

Minneapolis/St. Paul - Feb. 28, 2017 - Team USA Minnesota's Heather Kampf will compete in both the mile and the two mile events at the USATF Indoor Championships that will be held in Albuquerque on March 4-5. In addition, Team USA Minnesota Board member Katie McGregor will coach the U.S. Women's team at the NACAC Cross Country Championships which will be held in Boca Raton, Florida, on March 4.
Augsburg Elite Distance Academy for Runners in Grades 7-12 Set for June 25-29; Developed by Team USA Minnesota's Meghan Peyton, Heather Kampf
Minneapolis/St. Paul - Feb. 21, 2017 - Team USA Minnesota's Meghan Peyton and Heather Kampf - both national champions and Olympic Trials qualifiers as well as coaches - have developed the Augsburg Elite Distance Academy for middle distance and distance runners in grades 7-12. The Academy will be held at Augsburg College in Minneapolis beginning Sunday, June 25, and ending on Thursday, June 29.
Twin Cities In Motion Renews Sponsorship of Team USA Minnesota; $30,000 Annual Contribution for Athlete Development Extended through 2018
Minneapolis/St. Paul - Feb. 14, 2017 - Twin Cities In Motion, organizer of the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon and a host of year-round running events in Minneapolis and St. Paul, has extended its partnership with Twin Cities-based Team USA Minnesota, the elite long distance running training center that has developed 24 national champions and sent dozens of athletes to international competitions, including the Olympic Games.
Heather Kampf Places 4th at Millrose Wanamaker Mile; Two Team USA Minnesota Men to Run 3000m at U of M Snowshoe Open Feb. 17
Minneapolis/St. Paul - Feb. 13, 2017 - Team USA Minnesota's Heather Kampf finished fourth in the prestigious Wanamaker Mile at the 110th NYRR Millrose Games in New York City on Feb. 11. Her time was 4:28.39. Kampf is now qualified in both the mile and two mile for the USATF Indoor Championships which will be held in Albuquerque March 4-5.

Minneapolis/St. Paul - Feb. 7, 2017 - Team USA Minnesota's Heather Kampf won the women's 3000-meter race at the Armory Track Invitational in New York City on Feb. 4 in a personal best time of 8:51.27 (previous best was 8:58.14), which was also a meet record. Next up for Kampf will be the NYRR Millrose Games on Feb. 11 where she will compete in the Wanamaker Mile.

Minneapolis/St. Paul - Jan. 24, 2017 - Five Team USA Minnesota distance runners will compete at Indoor Track meets held Jan. 28 and Feb. 4 - including the Jack Johnson Classic, Black and Gold Premier, and the Armory Track Invitational - while four of the athletes will run in the USATF Cross Country Championships held in Bend, Oregon on Feb. 4.
USATF Minnesota Selects Heather Kampf as Women's Track & Field Athlete of the Year; Results from Aramco Houston Half Marathon
Minneapolis/St. Paul - Jan. 17, 2017 - Team USA Minnesota's Heather Kampf has been named the 2016 Women's Open Track & Field Athlete of the Year by USATF Minnesota. This is the second year in a row that Kampf - who is a four-time USA 1 Mile Road Champion - has received this honor.
Five Team USA Minnesota Runners to Compete at Aramco Houston Half Marathon Jan. 15; Houston Marathon Foundation Renews Support of Team
Minneapolis/St. Paul - Jan. 10, 2017 - Five Team USA Minnesota distance runners - Rob Molke, Jon Peterson, Kevin Lewis, Ryan Rutherford and Jamie Cheever - will compete at the Aramco Houston Half Marathon on Sunday, Jan. 15. The event, which starts at 7:00 a.m., is part of the 45th edition of the Chevron Houston Marathon Race Weekend.
Minneapolis/St. Paul - Jan. 5, 2017 - Team USA Minnesota has added two standout distance runners to its team - Kevin Lewis, a University of Iowa graduate, and Ryan Rutherford, whose collegiate career was at Illinois State University. Both athletes competed in the 1500 meters up through the 10,000 meters and ran cross country as well.
