Team USA Minnesota Runners Finish in Top 10 at Cow Harbor 10k and Top 20 at USA 5k Championships

Minneapolis/St. Paul - Sept. 23, 2014 - Team USA Minnesota distance runners Meghan Peyton and Jon Peterson finished in the top 10 at the Great Cow Harbor 10k on Sept. 20, and then Peyton, Peterson and Eric Finan crossed the finish line in the top 20 at the USA 5k Championships on Sept. 21.


At the Cow Harbor 10k in Northport, New York, Peterson placed second with a time of 29:27, bettering his time of 29:54 on the same course a year ago.  Peyton also ran well and finished in sixth place with a time of 34:22.

Traveling then to Providence, Rhode Island, and racing with teammate Finan, the three athletes were in the top 20 for the USA 5k Championships, which were held in conjunction with the CVS Health Downtown 5k.  Finan was 11th with a time of 14:14, Peterson was 12th in 14:16, and Peyton finished 17th in the women's race with a time of 16:19.

All three runners will next compete at Twin Cities on Oct. 5, with Peyton running in the USA Marathon Championships, and Finan and Peterson in the Medtronic TC 10 Mile.
