Jon Grey Is 7th at USATF Club Cross Champs and Named to U.S. Team for Great Edinburgh Cross Country Challenge; Emily Gordon Wins Santa to the Sea Half Marathon

Minneapolis/St. Paul - Dec. 16, 2014 - Team USA Minnesota's Jon Grey finished seventh in the open men's 10k at the USATF National Club Cross Country Championships on Dec. 13 and has been named to the U.S. team that will compete at the Bupa Great Edinburgh Cross Country International Challenge in Scotland on Jan. 10, 2015.


Grey's time in the 10k held at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, was 29:18.  This will be the second time he will be on the U.S. team to Edinburgh having also competed in 2012 after winning the Club Cross Country 10k Championships in 2011.  In Scotland in 2012, Grey placed fourth overall.

The Great Edinburgh Cross Country meeting is an annual international match between teams from Britain, Europe and the United States.  The open men will race the 8k distance.

Santa to the Sea Half Marathon

New Team USA Minnesota member Emily Gordon won the Santa to the Sea Half Marathon on Dec. 14 in Oxnard, California, with a time of 1:17:07.  She was first out of 1,146 women and 11th overall out of 1,872 participants in the seventh annual run.  Gordon, who has a best in the distance of 1:14:13, was using the event as a tune-up for the USA Half Marathon Championships in Houston, which will be held on Jan. 18.
