Eric Finan, Jon Grey, Jon Peterson and Meghan Peyton to Compete at USA Cross Country Championships in Boulder Feb. 7; Indoor Track Results

Minneapolis/St. Paul - Feb. 3, 2015 - Team USA Minnesota's Eric Finan, Jon Grey, Jon Peterson and Meghan Peyton will be among the competitors at the USA Cross Country Championships in Boulder, Colorado, on Feb. 7.  The open women's 8k race is at 12:15 p.m. and the open men's 12k is at 1:00 p.m. (Mountain time) and will be broadcast live at


The USA Championships also serves as the trials race to select the Team USA squad that will compete at the 2015 IAAF World Cross Country Championships to be held in Guiyana, China, on March 28.

Last year at the USA Cross Country Championships in Boulder, Peyton finished seventh in the women's 8k and Grey was 11th in the men's 12k.  More recently, Grey was seventh in the men's 10k at the USATF Club Cross Country Championships held on Dec. 13 and was on the USA squad that competed at the Great Edinburgh Cross Country Challenge in Scotland on Jan. 10.

Finan, Peterson and Peyton competed in the USA Half Marathon Championships in Houston on Jan. 18 and since that time have been training at altitude in Boulder to prepare for the cross country championships.  As a final tune-up, on Jan. 31 at the Winter Classic Cross Country 4 Mile in Boulder, Finan was third and Peterson finished fourth.

Indoor Track Results - Jan. 31

Heather Kampf was third in the women's invitational mile race at the Camel City Mile indoor track meet in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, on Jan. 31.  Her time was 4:31.24.

At the Jack Johnson Classic held at the University of Minnesota Fieldhouse in Minneapolis on Jan. 31, Jon Grey ran a personal best time of 8:06.58 (previous was 8:07.79) to win the men's 3000-meter race.
