Josh Dedering to Run Cherry Blossom Ten Mile April 12; Gabriele Grunewald Wins Stanford 5000m Race April 3; Jon Peterson, Jon Grey Set PRs in 5000m

Minneapolis/St. Paul - April 6, 2015 - Team USA Minnesota's Josh Dedering will be among the competitors at the Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run in Washington, D.C. on April 12.  The men's elite field starts at 7:30 a.m. (Eastern) along with the first wave of participants in a field of over 14,000 runners.  The run starts and finishes on the Washington Monument Grounds.

Dedering, who joined Team USA Minnesota in March, has a best of 49:50 in the 10 Mile and 1:03:31 in the half marathon.  A collegiate runner at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, Dedering took to the roads shortly after graduation last spring.  He posted his 10 mile best at the Medtronic TC 10 last October and his half marathon PR at the USA Half Marathon Championships in Houston in January.

As a tune-up race for Cherry Blossom, Dedering won the MDRA 7 Mile in Minneapolis on March 28 with a time of 35:38.

Stanford Invitational - April 3

Gabriele Grunewald won the fast heat of the women's 5000 meter race at the Stanford Invitational with a personal best time of 15:19.01 (previous best was 15:33.64).  The time was a qualifier for the USA Outdoor Track Championships in June of 15:26 and also meets the World A standard in the distance of 15:20.

"It was an awesome race," said Grunewald about the first race of her 2015 outdoor track season.  "I haven't raced in six months and sometimes it doesn't click the first time out.  This was a great start of the season for me.  And it was six years ago on Good Friday that I got my diagnosis of cancer so it was something on my mind during the week leading up to the event.  I'm just so grateful to be healthy and to still be running well."

Running in the fast heat of the men's 5000 meters at the Stanford Invitational, Jon Peterson finished eighth in a personal best time of 13:36.29 (previous was 13:39.51) and teammate Jon Grey was ninth in 13:37.79 (his best mark in the distance had been 13:46.12).
