Josh Dedering to Make Marathon Debut at Grandma's in Duluth on June 20; Heather Kampf Is 3rd in 1500m at IAAF World Challenge; Results from Track Meets

Minneapolis/St. Paul - June 16, 2015 - Team USA Minnesota's Josh Dedering will make his marathon debut at the 39th annual Grandma's Marathon in Duluth on June 20.  He has a best of 1:03:31 in the half marathon which is an Olympic Trials qualifier for the marathon.

 

Dedering, who joined Team USA Minnesota in March, set his personal best in the half marathon at the USA Half Marathon Championships in Houston in January.  The Wisconsin native and 2014 graduate of the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse took to the roads after finishing his collegiate running career and won the Madison Half Marathon in November and the Fiesta Bowl Half Marathon in December.  He was also fifth at the Medtronic TC 10 Mile last October.

Grandma's Marathon starts at 7:45 a.m. in Two Harbors and finishes in Canal Park in Duluth.

Results from Track Meets

Heather Kampf was third in the 1500 meters with a time of 4:06.29 at the IAAF World Challenge in Rabat, Morocco, on June 14.  Prior to this race, Kampf ran a personal best of 4:04.50 (previous was 4:06.16) at the Rome Diamond League meet on June 4, and then posted 4:05.12 on June 11 at the Bislett Games in Oslo, also a Diamond League event.

Gabriele Grunewald competed in the 1500 meters at the Birmingham Diamond League meet on June 7 and posted 4:08.61.  She then ran the 1500m at the Bislett Games to finish fifth with a time of 4:04.26, a season best.

At the Portland Track Festival on June 13-14, Meghan Peyton was 10th in the women's 5000m race with a time of 16:07.36, and Jon Peterson was 10th in the men's 5000m race in 13:50.39
