Heather Kampf to Compete in Mile at Crim Festival of Races on Aug. 21

Minneapolis/St. Paul - Aug. 19, 2015 - Team USA Minnesota's Heather Kampf will be among the competitors in the professional women's mile at the Health Plus Crim Festival of Races in Flint, Michigan, on Aug. 21.  The event, part of the Michigan Mile Race Series, starts at 7 p.m. (Eastern).


Kampf finished second in the Crim Mile in 2014.  She is the three-time winner of the USA 1 Mile Road Championships (2012, 2014 and 2015).  So far this year, in addition to the USA Championship, she has won the Bermuda Mile, the Grand Blue Mile, the Ryan Shay Mile and the Liberty Mile.  She has a best time of 4:21 in the road mile.

The mile races on Friday evening will be held on the streets of downtown Flint.  The Crim 10 Mile Race will be run the next day beginning at 8 a.m.  In 2014, Kampf finished 12th in the 10 mile and plans to run in the race again this year.
