Four Team USA Minnesota Women to Compete at USA Women's 10k Championship at Tufts Oct. 12; Results from USA 10 Mile Championships at Twin Cities; Biya Simbassa Wins TC 10k in St. Paul

Minneapolis/St. Paul - Oct. 6, 2015 - Four Team USA Minnesota women - Meghan Peyton, Megan Goethals, Katy Moen and Gina Valgoi - will compete at the USATF Women's 10k Championship on Oct. 12 in Boston.  The championship is hosted by the 39th annual Tufts Health Plan 10k for Women.

 

Peyton has a best in the 10,000m of 32:47 on the track and was ninth at the USA 10k Championships on the road in 2013 when it was held at Peachtree.  Goethals has posted 32:52 in the distance on the track, while Moen and Valgoi have run 33:09 and 33:07 respectively.

The Columbus Day tradition attracts over 7,000 runners and walkers.

USA 10 Mile Championships - Results

Six Team USA Minnesota distance runners competed in the USATF 10 Mile Championships at Twin Cities on Oct. 4.  In the men's race, Parker Stinson was 11th in 47:52 and Josh Dedering was 30th with a time of 50:45.

Meghan Peyton was 17th in the women's 10 mile race with a time of 55:57, Katy Moen finished 21st in her debut professional race with a time of 56:29, Megan Goethals was 24th in 57:46, and Emily Gordon posted 1:00:56 to finish 39th.

TC 10k - Results

Biya Simbassa won the TC 10k which was held on the State Capitol grounds in St. Paul on Oct. 3.  The race was part of the Saturday Events held during the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon weekend.  His time was 30:34.
