Biya Simbassa, Meghan Peyton to Run Pacific 10,000m Pursuit on Dec. 6; Thanksgiving Day Race Results

Minneapolis/St. Paul - Dec. 1, 2015 - Team USA Minnesota's Biya Simbassa and Meghan Peyton will compete at the Pacific 10,000m Pursuit track meet in Sacramento on Dec. 6.


Simbassa has a best in the 10,000 meters of 28:42 while Peyton has posted 32:47 in the distance.  The meet, which will be held at Hornet Stadium on the campus of California State University, Sacramento, is an opportunity for runners to seek the 10,000m Olympic qualifying standards.

The women's race will begin at 6:00 p.m. and the men's race at 6:50 p.m. (both times Pacific).

Thanksgiving Day Race Results

Biya Simbassa and Heather Kampf won the men's and women's races respectively at the Life Time Turkey Day 5k in Minneapolis on Nov. 26.  Their times for the tune-up race were 14:44 for Simbassa and 17:11 for Kampf.

Following in fourth, fifth and sixth place and recording the same time of 17:47 at the Turkey Day 5k were Katy Moen, Gina Valgoi and Megan Goethals.

At the Manchester Road Race in Connecticut, Meghan Peyton finished ninth with a time of 25:26 for the 4.748-mile race.

In California, Jon Peterson was 17th in 14:29 at the San Jose Turkey Trot 5k.
