Team USA Minnesota to Launch Monthly 'Sunday Run Days with Team USA' on March 6; Biya Simbassa Wins Rodeo Run 10k in Houston

Minneapolis/St. Paul - March 1, 2016 - The Team USA Minnesota distance runners will launch the first-ever Sunday Run Days with Team USA, a monthly group run for the Minneapolis/St. Paul community, on Sunday, March 6 at 8:00 a.m. at the Lake Harriet Bandshell in Minneapolis.


The Sunday Run Days with Team USA events are open to runners of all ages and abilities.  The athletes of Team USA Minnesota will lead different running groups organized by pace and distance.

Future Sunday Run Days with Team USA will take place on the first Sunday of each month.  Team USA Minnesota aims to connect with and bring together the Minnesota running community through these runs.

"The athletes of Team USA Minnesota decided to start Sunday Run Days because we want to give back to the great running community here in Minnesota," said veteran Team USA Minnesota runner Meghan Peyton, the 2013 USA 20k Champion and two-time Olympic Marathon Trials qualifier.

"We wanted to find a way to engage with the runners who make our community so vibrant and fun.  We really hope these runs will grow and that we will have people from all walks of life joining in on our Sunday Run Days with Team USA."

Rodeo run 10k - Feb. 27

Biya Simbassa won the Conoco Phillips Rodeo Run 10k in Houston on Feb. 27 with a time of 29:59.  There were over 4,000 finishers in the annual event.  Next up for Simbassa will be the USA 15k Championships that will be held on March 12 in Jacksonville, Florida.
