Heather Kampf Wins 4th USATF 1 Mile Road Title; Two Team USA Minnesota Runners Post Mile Bests at Championships Held in Minneapolis May 12

Minneapolis/St. Paul - May 13, 2016 - Team USA Minnesota's Heather Kampf notched her fourth USATF 1 Mile Road title at the championships hosted by the Medtronic TC 1 Mile in downtown Minneapolis on May 12.  She is also now a three-time winner of the TC 1 Mile.  Her time in last evening's race was 4:34.2.


Also competing for Team USA Minnesota was Meghan Peyton, who finished seventh in the women's championship with a time of 4:45.2, and Katy Moen, who was ninth in a personal best time of 4:47.7 (previous best was 4:50.04).

In the men's championship race, Biya Simbassa was ninth in 4:05.5, which was a personal best in the mile distance (previous was 4:06.38), and Jon Peterson, who was 12th in 4:09.6.

Over 2,000 runners participated in the Medtronic TC 1 Mile races which ran along the Mississippi Riverfront and finished near the Guthrie Theater.  In addition to hosting the USATF 1 Mile Road Championships, the event was the second stop on the 2016 Bring Back the Mile Tour.
