The course goes along four lakes in Minneapolis - Isles, Calhoun, Harriet and Nokomis - as well as the Mississippi River and then to Summit Avenue in St. Paul to finish at the Capitol.  This is the 35th year of the Twin Cities Marathon.

In the 10 mile distance, Peyton has a best of 54:42 and Simbassa has posted 49:11.  They will run against a deep field of American competitors in the men's and women's championship races.  The event is known as the "Shortcut to the Capitol." After starting in downtown Minneapolis, the 10 mile covers the last seven miles of the marathon course to also finish at the State Capitol grounds.
