Four-Time National Champion Heather Kampf to Run in Turkey Day 5k in Downtown Minneapolis Nov. 24

Minneapolis/St. Paul - Nov. 22, 2016 - Team USA Minnesota's Heather Kampf will run in the Delta Dental Turkey Day 5k produced by Life Time on Nov. 24 along with over 13,000 other participants.  The Thanksgiving Day run, which starts near the Life Time Athletic Target Center, was first held in 1989.


The run starts at 8 a.m. and takes runners and walkers on a tour of downtown Minneapolis over the 3.1-mile course.

Kampf is a four-time national champion in the USATF Road Mile and has also won 24 road miles since 2011.  On the 'Bring Back the Mile Grand Prix Tour,' which she has won three times, she is known as the "Queen of the Road Mile."

A regular participant who runs for fun with family and friends in the Thanksgiving Day tradition in her home town, Kampf has been the first female to cross the finish line at the Turkey Day 5k the past three years.
