Kevin Lewis, Danny Docherty to Compete at USA 10k Championships in Atlanta at Peachtree on July 4th

Minneapolis/St. Paul - June 28, 2018 - Team USA Minnesota's Kevin Lewis and Danny Docherty will be among the competitors at the USATF 10k Championships which will be held in conjunction with the AJC Peachtree Road Race on July 4th in Atlanta.  The elite men start at 7:00 a.m. (Eastern time) in the holiday race that attracts 60,000 participants.


Lewis most recently set a personal best in the 10k of 28:32.06 at the Portland Track Festival on June 9, and followed that up with a 13th place finish in the 10k at the USATF Outdoor Championships in Des Moines on June 21.  This will be his first appearance at Peachtree.

Docherty competed at Peachtree in 2017 and looks to better his performance at this year's race.  On June 16, he ran a personal best of 1:04:09 at the Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon in Duluth to finish in ninth place.

The annual Peachtree Road Race is organized by the Atlanta Track Club and is a 4th of July tradition.  The race starts near Lenox Square Mall and ends in Piedmont Park in Atlanta.
