Nine Team USA Minnesota Distance Runners to Compete during Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon Weekend Oct. 6-7 in either the TC 5k, TC 10 Mile or Marathon

Minneapolis/St. Paul - Sept. 12, 2018 - With less than a month to go, nine Team USA Minnesota distance runners are in their final preparations to compete during the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon weekend Oct. 6-7.  They will join the more than 30,000 runners of all ages expected to participate in running events that include the TC 5k, TC 10k and TC Family Events, the 20th anniversary of the Medtronic TC 10 Mile - which is also host to the USATF 10 Mile Championships - and the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon.

"The Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon weekend is a favorite for us because we're able to train on our home course and have home town support on race day," said Team USA Minnesota coach Chris Lundstrom.  "It's great to have a USATF Championship race in the TC 10 Mile here in our backyard, along with the marathon and Saturday events.

"Breanna Sieracki and Heather Kampf will kick off the weekend on Saturday in the TC 5k. Then on Sunday, we'll have a bunch of athletes running the 10 mile and preparing to set PRs.  In addition, Tyler Jermann will run the marathon looking to place high and improve on his personal best."

"The athletes have been using FAStZach (www.FASTZach.com), a distance-based mobile app that generates routes in seconds, to enhance their daily runs during their training for the TCM races," said Lundstrom.  "The app has helped our runners find new and different routes whether they train at home or when they travel.  The app supports routes of any distance they select along with changing up the scenery for a run or mapping out a new loop."
